An Educational and Decision-Support Platform for Clinical Perfusion
Perfi is an open-access educational initiative designed to support clinical cardiovascular perfusionists, anesthesia providers, and cardiothoracic surgery professionals. Our mission is to promote patient safety and raise awareness around advanced evidence-based perfusion methodologies, such as Goal-Directed Perfusion (GDP), to reduce postoperative complications like Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).
The platform provides immediate, precise references for clinical formulas commonly used during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). These include predictive models for acute normovolemic hemodilution, body surface area (BSA) blood flow rates, anticoagulation dose responses (ACT), oxygen transfer efficiency, and advanced acid-base interpretation (Anion Gap & Delta-Delta analysis).
Additionally, the app hosts standard safety checklists and emergency bypass protocol guides, providing clinical teams with organized cognitive aids during critical, high-stakes procedural scenarios.
Academic & Reference Standards
Every formula and protocol hosted on Perfi is derived from standard peer-reviewed literature, medical physics, and clinical guidelines published by professional bodies, including the American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology (AmSECT) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).
